For many students, this spring semester did not begin with a precise marked date on a calendar.
It began after weeks of uncertainty, postponed plans, and a reality that demanded resilience far beyond the classroom.

And yet, last week, more than 300 Anières students filled the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering auditorium at the Technion to mark the opening of the Spring Semester – proving once again that even in challenging times, a strong community continues to move forward together.
Held in collaboration with the Technion Alumni Association, the event brought together students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders for an evening dedicated to one of the core ideas at the heart of the Anières Program – innovation can take many forms, but it always begins with people.

The panel featured three remarkable Technion alumni whose careers represent different paths to creating impact. Dr. Marianna Truman, entrepreneur and CEO of Orsight Pharma, shared the perspective of academic innovation transformed into real-world solutions. Lior Bonfis, Chief Operations Officer of Philips and Chairman of Philips Israel, offered insights from the leadership of a global corporation. Limor Halay, CEO of Femme Medical, spoke about the entrepreneurial journey of building and growing a startup. Together, they painted a broad and inspiring picture of what is possible when curiosity, excellence, and determination meet opportunity, whilst encouraging students to dare, even if failure will be the outcome.
The evening also celebrated another force that helps students grow – connection. Through the ongoing partnership between the Anières Program and the Technion Alumni Association, students continue to benefit from mentoring relationships with experienced Technion graduates who generously share their knowledge, experience, and guidance.

More than anything, the event served as a reminder of what makes the Anières Program unique. Beyond scholarships and workshops, Anières is a community. A community of students who support one another, and partners who believe in investing in the next generation of innovators and leaders.
As the Spring Semester begins, we are grateful to everyone who helped make this evening possible, and excited to see what our students will build, discover, and achieve in the months ahead.
